1 | The digitalization in education poses a challenge for higher education to form students’ digital competencies, including interaction through digital technologies, information and data management, the ability to solve various problems in the use of information and communication technologies, integration and digital content processing. The purpose of this study is to identify the level of formation of digital competencies of cadets of the Academy of the EMERCOM of Russia. The research was carried out at the State Fire Academy of the EMERCOM of Russia with 168 first-year students. Main research methods: survey, conversation and interview. The results of the study illustrate a lack of students’ digital competence, in particular, information digital competencies (knowledge of the essence of digital footprint and cyber shadow) and digital competence of communication and cooperation (compliance with precautions when working on the Internet). Digital competence of 80 % of respondents was low: they have not heard anything about the concepts of “digital footprint” and “cyber shadow” and don’t take special precautions when working on the Internet. 15 % of the respondents had an average level of development of digital competencies: they are familiar with these concepts, but found it difficult to identify their essential content characteristics and precautions when working on the Internet. 5 % of the respondents have a high level of development of digital competencies: they know and understand the meaning of the concepts of “digital footprint” and “cyber shadow”, and observe precautions when working on the Internet. According to the results of the study, the authors came to the conclusion that there is a need for information and methodological support of students in this direction, which implies the integration of digital material into the content of disciplines, the inclusion of elective classes, the introduction of digital modules and additional educational programs. 2 | The rapid advancement of digital technologies in the field of education is dictated by the relevance of the problems considered in this case. Digital literacy of physical education teachers, instructors and coaches in sports from among the teaching staff of educational organizations is the lowest. Despite the high importance of knowledge, skills, practical skills and tactical skills of mentors, digital competence has become a mandatory indicator for assessing the professional suitability of the modern education system. In modern physical culture and sports education, there are currently not enough methodological developments on the use of digital technologies. The process of digital modernization of education should be systematic and gradual, including the continuous interaction of educational organizations at all levels. It is necessary to search and classify additional innovative means and methods necessary to improve the educational process and the process of improving the sportsmanship of swimmers in the practice of professional training of students of the faculties of physical culture and sports. The study uses a theoretical analysis of scientific publications, innovative digital programs and devices that improve the efficiency of the swimming training process. Discussed are digital devices used in the training process of training swimmers from elementary to professional levels, their purpose and significance. The training process requires the search for new, original and effective ways of preparing and recovering swimmers, which have become available in the era of digital technology. It is important for teachers and trainers to master the skills of competent use of modern devices and programs that increase the effectiveness of practical exercises and rehabilitation procedures. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new approaches and solutions in the professional training of physical culture and sports specialists in a timely manner to most effectively use digitalization trends in the educational process. 3 | Taking into account the peculiarities of professional activity in the process of professional training of cadets at universities of the EMERCOM of Russia, it is necessary to model the training of cadets with the possibility of a “seamless” transition to an individual trajectory, taking into account a special educational request and a return to the traditional one for the university, after eliminating gaps in academic performance. The article presents a model of professional training for cadets of universities of the EMERCOM of Russia using digital technologies, as a system for compensating for gaps in the performance of cadets with a special educational request according to an individual learning path. The model is presented as a system of interconnected conceptual-target, content-technological and evaluative-effective components. The conceptual-target component includes the idea, goal, objectives, competency-based, system-activity and subjectively oriented approaches, as well as the principles of: compliance with employer requirements, practice-oriented orientation, continuity, consciousness and activity, individualization, accessibility. The content-technological component is represented by the content and applied pedagogical means and conditions, as well as diagnostic, motivational, correctional, developmental and socializing functions. As a proprietary pedagogical tool and conditions for implementing the model, a computer system for training and monitoring the knowledge of cadets of universities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia “ABC of the Rescuer” is proposed. The evaluation and performance component includes criteria and indicators for tracking the increase in the level of professional preparedness: the subjective position of cadets; subject, meta-subject, personal and correctional results. The article displays the results of testing the model using the example of cadet-athletes of the State Fire Service Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. An analysis of the obtained data from the initial and final diagnostics of the study was carried out. Positive dynamics of indicators of professional preparedness were revealed, expressed by the level of formation of the subjective position of cadets, as well as subject, meta-subject, personal and correctional results. The interaction of teachers with parents of cadets was realized and the level of their satisfaction with the organization of the professional training process was revealed.
