752 | Professional translators should be able to effectively manage their linguistic knowledge to meet their professional needs. This involves not only acquiring relevant terminology in a particular area, but also the means of expression specific to this subject field, thus ensuring nativelike speech in a foreign language. The article posits that one of the tools which can be successfully used to achieve this goal is narrow reading. The benefits of using narrow reading by translators to expand their linguistic knowledge can be justified by its ability to: 1) highlight the preferred ways of expressing certain ideas, conveying meanings and describing situations used by native speakers; 2) ensure comprehensive knowledge and long-term retention of new vocabulary; 3) encourage the process of constructing knowledge of a foreign language. It has been concluded that the effectiveness of using narrow reading for achieving the above-mentioned aims depends on the following factors: 1) awareness of the types of linguistic means which ensure nativelike speech; 2) the ability to notice means of expression specific to a particular subject field used by native speakers to convey specific ideas and meanings; 3) the ability to adequately use these linguistic means when speaking a foreign language. The article describes an algorithm for developing the knowledge and skills required to effectively use narrow reading for expanding students’ linguistic knowledge and ensure nativelike speech in a particular subject area. It can be used as part of an English language course in an undergraduate degree in translation and interpreting. The algorithm proved to be an an effective tool for achieving the above-mentioned goals. Keywords: narrow reading, language teaching for translation, nativelike speech, noticing | 997

755 | The article deals with the concepts of “global world” and “global thinking” in their spatial and temporal meaning. The inclusion of global spatial and temporal aspects in the content of higher education determines the conceptuality of education, which has a positive impact on the quality of higher education. It is shown that the semantic formations of the personality are directly dependent on the temporal aspects of its existence, and they are important for the core structures of the personality semantic sphere. In this regard, the problems of modern higher education are highlighted. The necessity of more clear purpose designation of higher education with a projection on time aspects of the global world development is proved. It is determined that the quality of higher education is influenced by inefficient personnel formation of universities, in which there are few specialists in the field of education theory; it also suffers from the lack of individual training programs for students throughout the process. In higher education, as well as in science, there is a significant gap between theory and practice. The idea of global thinking formation among students as one of the strategies of higher education is defended. Directions of global thinking formation, taking into account its time aspect, are presented. Examples of practical solutions on the strategy choice in the educational process of higher education are given. The study showed that the formation of culture of cognitive activity ways translation allows students to discover the global, spiritual side of the activity, thereby strengthening the trend of more reasonable expectations of an optimistic future for young people. 756 | This article actualizes the problem of improving the quality of school education in the modern educational environment. In accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of General Education and the competence-based approach, one of the tasks is the student’s research position. Consequently, one of the results of high-quality education is the formation of research competence among senior pupils. The authors cite various characteristics and definitions of the concept of “research competence” given by wellknown researchers as V. A. Bolotov, I. A. Zimnyaya, A. K. Markova, A. V. Khutorskoy, etc. Theoretical concepts based on the position of the systemic, competence-based, activity-based approaches are consistent with the results of published pedagogical research in this area. The conditions under which the formation of research competence is effective are the involvement of students in their own research activities, as well as the presence in the content of the discipline of a problem-oriented and regional context, which is necessary for the formation of research methods of cognitive activity. As an illustration of these provisions, the development of a student’s research project is presented, in which an effective pedagogical technology is demonstrated in dynamics, which has a direct impact on the research competence of students in classes in which natural sciences are studied in depth. An example of the presented project shows how it is possible to realize research competence in the conditions of in-depth study of natural science disciplines within the framework of the model of interaction between school and university, as well as the possibility of enriching the content of the teaching of high school students in classes with in-depth study of natural sciences with tasks with a regional component and focused on the development of mental operations, on the structuring of theoretical knowledge. The socio-demographic processes taking place in modern Russia are described. The concept of family identity is considered as a person’s belonging to a family group, reflecting his commitment to family values and manifesting itself at the cognitive, affective and behavioral levels. The formation of family identity is characterized by a person’s involvement in family life, the presence of positive emotions and attitudes towards creating their own family, showing interest in family history, in helping and caring for parents and grandparents. The article presents the results of diagnostics of the family identity of students, reflecting the hierarchy of family value students, the social roles with which they identify themselves, the types of adaptation and cohesion of the parental families of students. The results of this study can be used in the further development of a program for the development of family identity and its implementation in the learning process at a university. In the context of the transformation of the family as a social institution, purposeful work is needed to develop the family identity of students – future teachers, who in the future will interact with the family, where it will be possible to jointly form the family identity of schoolchildren based on traditional values. 758 | The article examines the sociocultural approach as the basis of modern education focused on the individual in the fullness of his cultural and reproductive activity. The relationship between the socio-cultural approach and the museum is investigated, which determines the change in the educational activity of the latter. In accordance with the demands of society, museum communication as a method of interaction with a person in the educational practice of the museum becomes paramount. Museum communication and the process of its transformation in the digital age is a key concept for studying the mechanisms of modernization of the educational activities of the museum. In turn, communicative processes transform the content and results of education in the museum, giving it personally meaningful meanings. The semantic field of the content of museum education becomes the basis for communication, and the museum visitor is a representative of one or another point of view on cultural phenomena. The museum, being at the junction of various sciences (pedagogy, psychology, museology, art history), sees its goal not so much in the expansion of knowledge, but in the development of the value apparatus, attitudes, and creative abilities of the individual. Consequently, the appropriation by an individual of the diversity of sociocultural experience becomes a key task of the educational activities of the museum. 759 | This article is devoted to considering a range of issues related to the search for ways to improve the educational process in military higher educational institutions (HEIs) through the use of training teaching methods. The relevance of this problem is determined by the specifics and the highest level of complexity of modern problematic military-political situations and trends in their development. In this regard, very high requirements are imposed on the level of morale and combat qualities of the current Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and future military personnel. Satisfaction of these requirements is possible provided that the effectiveness of the educational process in military universities is increased, including through the use of training teaching methods. The main task and goal of the educational process of a military university is the formation of a whole complex of qualities in servicemen, which, in addition to moral, professional-combat and physical, include psychological qualities: developed perception, thinking, attention, memory, emotional and volitional stability. The level of psychological readiness of modern cadets of military universities determines their ability to adequately assess any situation, including a conflict one, to navigate in it, and independently make responsible decisions. The feasibility of widespread use in the educational process of training teaching methods is due to their high potential in ensuring psychological readiness, in the formation and development of psychological mechanisms for managing their behavior in stressful situations. Due to the specific content and organizational form, training is an effective means of forming and improving professionally significant qualities of future military personnel, a means of intensive training in behavior in conflict situations. It is obvious that the systematic use of trainings in the educational process of a military higher educational institution, the provision and observance of certain conditions during their organization and implementation can be a rather effective way of increasing the effectiveness of military education in general. The article uses analytical and synthetic research methods. Keywords: preparation; future teachers; preparation factors; pedagogical care; professional activity | 984
761 | The problem of the formation of preschool children’s interest in books and reading activities is considered, the necessity of its solution is justified due to the decline in interest in reading and traditional books at all stages of education. The points of view of scientists on this problem and various methodological approaches related to the formation of specific reading skills in children through appropriate methodological techniques of literary reading, literary listening and literary creativity are analyzed. The psychological features of the perception of the text of a work of art by children of middle and older preschool age are highlighted, based on which special methodological techniques have been developed and tested. The authors present their own experience of solving it and provide data obtained as a result of an empirical study (questioning kindergarten teachers, monitoring the activities of children), in which older preschool children participated. The indicators and criteria for assessing the level of formation of the interest of older preschoolers in the book and reading activities, which have practical significance on a par with the proposed ways to solve the designated problem, are given. A workbook is presented, based on which children perform interesting and diverse tasks when working with artistic texts. In the conclusion of the article, the authors demonstrate data confirming the effectiveness of the approaches they have developed. 762 | The current situation is characterized by increasing globalization, digitalization, mass communication, etc. However, the problems associated with cognitive activity will always be a priority since they not only ensure continuity in knowledge transfer, but also encourage further development. Though, the very definition of the concept of “cognitive activity” has not been presented in the scientific literature yet. Therefore, the authors’ interpretation is offered as a novelty: cognitive activity is a purposeful study of the surrounding reality by an individual when he/she acquires (clarifies, expands, etc.) knowledge, corrects ideas about subjects and objects of this reality, learns and develops skills providing comprehension of the surrounding reality and its modifications. Based on the logic of the concept presented, the authors study the risks of organizing cognitive activity in preschool children in the process of using digital gadgets. The basis of the material is the analysis of domestic and foreign publications on the stated problem. A number of researchers consider the impact of digital devices on the development process as a positive one, while others see the risks of using gadgets. Materials of foreign studies related to 2016 are distinguished by their interest in this issue, restrained optimism and an attitude towards further research. However, by 2018, the tone of the researchers’ conclusions regarding the use of digital devices by preschool children had undergone a change from neutrally interested to cautiously anxious (Graafland J. H., Rocha B, Nunes C. et al.). It is proved that a long stay of schoolchildren in the digital environment (passive cognitive development) has implications because of the decrease in the ability to form and operate with knowledge, which is the basis of cognitive activity. Nevertheless, the “digital world” is evolving, so further research is needed in order to prepare the younger generation for cognitive activity in the surrounding reality, not only “here and now,” but also in the distant future. 763 | The problem of the development of social innovations, including in the field of education, has acquired unprecedented theoretical and practical significance in the last decade. This is due to the transition to the formation of a modern society, the development of which is based on knowledge and the financial crisis of 2008. Social innovations change established social practices, are mainly implemented in the form of projects, the content of which is aimed at solving socially significant social problems, and need to be managed at all stages of the life cycle (from idea to diffusion). In educational organizations, to ensure the diffusion of social innovations in the field of education, it is advisable to use mentoring. Based on the analysis of successful cases of diffusion of social innovations in the educational sphere, the article examines mentoring as: a) preparing the teaching staff for changes in social practice; b) a mechanism for restoring the context of social innovation and its reproduction; c) an asset of an educational organization working in the markets “without money”; d) a mechanism for the reproduction of teaching staff. The importance of a three-component mentoring system in an educational organization is substantiated: mentoring for mentors, mentoring for teachers and mentoring students. The materials of the article can become the basis for continuing research on the diffusion of social innovations in the field of education and the transformation of the existing mentoring systems in educational organizations. 764 | The purpose of the article is justification of the systemic role of a classical university “with history” in the development of a college town as a special sociocultural phenomenon and the preservation of its cultural identity. The methodological complex, applied in the paper, includes the theory of autopoietic social systems (N. Luhmann); the concept of a traditional university as an open and closed system (M. Lenartowicz); sociocultural (R. Park), cultural (N. Fedotova, T. Ilyina, I. Grevs, M. Kagan) and historical-cultural (K. Kerr) approaches; the concept of the region as a social system (D. Dokuchaev). The paper presents an analysis of the “college town” and “a city with a university” concepts. It formulates the authors’ definition of a college town, describes the key differences between a college town and a city with a university, and demonstrates the main college town characteristics. The article demonstrates that a college town is a complex sociocultural system with a dual status (open/closed), whose identity is based on a classical university “with a history” that provides the functioning of the town’s cultural codes. Understanding a classical university “with a history” as a college town’s system-forming element provides an opportunity to understand the essence of this town type and its specific characteristics. It can be further used as a theoretical justification for the strategy of regional development. The ideas presented in this paper can contribute to the search for an authentic identity for some territorial entities, which is still in a “latent state”. 773 | The appeal to the problem of using digital educational resources in the academic discipline «Physical Culture» is associated with the need, in connection with the epidemiological situation in the world, to transfer the educational process to the online and blended learning format. Of course, the translation process began much earlier, thanks to the project “Modern Digital Educational Environment” [1], which was implemented from 2013–2020 as part of the state program “Development of Education”. Despite this, specialists in physical culture and sports of non-physical culture universities insisted that “physical culture” has a purely applied nature and cannot be carried out in a blended learning and, moreover, in an online format. At the same time, each of us understands that to engage means to act. There is no action without motivation, positive emotions and attitude. All this forms a readiness for action. Readiness is not formed without a cognitive component and an operational – activity component, that is, without a cognitive component. Consolidation of the acquired knowledge in practice, which is associated not only with motor activity, but also with other components of physical improvement. Drawing a conclusion from the above, we can say that the theoretical block of the discipline “Physical Culture” is important and its implementation is possible in an online and blended learning format. The problem of introducing digital educational resources into the process of mastering the discipline “Physical Culture” is considered. The analysis of Internet sites, applications and programs most often used by specialists in the educational process is presented. The relevance of the use of mixed learning in the development of the discipline “Physical Culture” has been revealed. A survey of physical education teachers was carried out, during which the negative and positive effects of the use of Internet technologies in the classroom of both practical and theoretical blocks of the discipline were determined. Recommendations are given to improve the effectiveness of studying the discipline in a mixed and remote format. Conclusion: when studying the discipline “Physical Culture”, the possibilities of using various digital educational resources are limitless; because they allow you to master the discipline in a mixed and remote format, design individual educational routes, independently increase the level of cognitive activity and readiness for physical self-improvement. At the same time, we believe that the best option would be to create a systemically organized virtual educational health-saving platform that will allow students to effectively build their own health-saving educational space. The heterogeneity and inconsistency of these results is shown, that determines the relevance of continuing the researches on the value-moral sphere. A new perspective of its study is proposed, that is related to the moral component of spiritual capacities, which includes such a moral and value subcomponent as spiritual and moral qualities. These qualities reflect an orientation towards the highest universal human values. The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship of the spiritual and moral qualities of a person with positive (virtues-values) personality traits, as well as with negative (non-spiritual) personality traits. The study involved 79 people: 60 – female; 19 – male; students (full-time and part-time) from Ufa, Moscow. Age 18–30 years old. Average age – 20,97 ± 2,84. The following methods were used: Spiritual Personality Inventory by A. Hussain and M. Anas (adapted by G.V. Ozhiganova, 2019); Values in Action Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS) by K. Peterson and M. Seligman (adapted by S. A. Bashkatov, 2013) – a short version; the Dirty dozen Questionnaire by P. K. Jonason and G. D. Webster (adapted by T. V. Kornilova et al., 2015). As a result of the study of the moral and value subcomponent of spiritual capacities, a significant positive relationship between the spiritual and moral qualities of a person and positive qualities related to classical virtues (values): “Justice”, “Courage”, “Temperance”, “Wisdom” was established. There were found significant negative correlations of spiritual and moral qualities and such negative traits (Dark Triad) as Psychopathy and Machiavellianism, and the absence of correlations with Narcissism. 777 | The state policy in the field of education actualizes the importance of additional education of children as an element of the overall system for identifying and developing talents and abilities in children and young people. Additional education, being a subsystem of general education, is considered in the regional context as an open variable pedagogical system that works to achieve the national goal of developing talents and self-realization of the younger generation. Responding to the challenges of our time, new regional practices of managing the field of additional education are gradually being formed, including active horizontal and inter-level relations, integration of non-institutional educational service providers into the general content circuit, and decentralization of management mechanisms. Considered as the basis of “long life education”, the concept of “additional education of children” acquires new semantic characteristics, including requirements for the content of educational results, continuity of educational programs, orientation to different categories of students. To resolve the contradiction between the emerging regional practice and the lack of scientific validity of the approaches used, it is necessary to rethink the methodological approaches traditionally used by researchers to manage the field of additional education at the regional level. The relevance is due both to the increase in the number of foreign students in Russian universities and the need for them to master the Russian language as soon as possible in order to continue their studies in Russian. The aim of the work is to describe the features of mastering Russian scientific vocabulary, the terminology of technical disciplines, in particular, the language of mathematics by foreign students studying at the preparatory department of the Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Building). A linguistic experiment was carried out, when students were offered to write a dictation, replete with scientific vocabulary. The results, as well as violations of pronunciation and spelling of terms have been described, since the main difficulty is precisely the study of the vocabulary of the scientific style of speech. The peculiarities of deviations from the standard were also identified, structured, and described. Options for the implementation of the program for the development of normative writing skills by foreign students were proposed. Rather difficult is the definition of the word boundary, writing letters at the end of a word, the perception of hissing consonants, paired consonants (unvoiced – voiced), soft – hard; determination of the gender of a noun (in most languages of the former Soviet Union there is no category of gender). 796 | As part of the study of the features of the Abkhazian folk pedagogy, the article considers special means of edifying influence on the younger generation. An act of caution, the tenetseducation, intimidating – the phenomena that have existed in ethnopedagogy from time immemorial, are designed to protect, reason. The act of caution is widely known in ethnopedagogic science, but little attention is paid to its study and systematization. It is worth noting the absence of significant works on the study of this aspect, collections of people’s warnings, allowing to deeply reveal their essence and content. The most used edifying expressions used by Abkhazians in everyday life were provided to the authors by informants, representatives of this ethnic group living on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. Other sources were the works of folklore, as warnings are found in the oral folk art of Abkhazians. The scientific novelty of the experience discussed in the article lies in the lack of due attention to this kind of means of education, including emotional. The relevance of the analysis of this means of education lies in its excessive effectiveness, the lack of need to resort to other methods of persuasion. The purpose of the study of the issue of warnings is the desire to isolate the positive and negative sides of such an impact and to determine the possibility of its application, taking into consideration the requirements and norms of modern pedagogy and modern realities. The study tested the hypothesis of ethnospecificity of the realization of values and psychological defense mechanisms in a situation of forced unemployment in Buryatia on a multi-ethnic sample (Russians, Buryats). The absence of ethnic differences in the priorities of the values of a “happy family life” and “financially secure life” shown. Buryats also note the importance of such values as “health (physical and mental)”. The least accessible value for Russians and Buryats is “interesting work”, while the Buryats also have “financially secure life (absence of material difficulties)” which most fully reflects the situation of unemployment. All the unemployed expressed such psychological defense mechanisms as “reactive education” and “denial”. In the Russian group, it is also possible to distinguish such mechanisms as “substitution”, “regression” and “compensation”. There were no significant ethnic differences in the severity of psychological defenses in the groups, but by comparing the mean values, higher tensions in the Russian group noted. The ethnospecific interrelations between the structure of values and psychological defenses were shown.
