Dorfman L.Y. Models of the Self in foreign psychology // Pedagogical Review. 2024. Issue 4 (56). P. 111-123

The models of Self created in foreign psychology are considered. Their place is taken into account in broader theories to classify models of the Self. For this purpose, larger theories are divided into groups. They were separated and refined by psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive, socio-psychological, narrative and existential-humanistic models of the Self. In psychodynamic models, the Self refers to the areas of consciousness and subconscious, considering them together. In this case, the Self differentiates and splits through divergence and fragmentation, or, conversely, deals with convergence and the emergence of a holistic Self. Behavioral patterns demonstrate a behavioral view of the Self. It included the Self as ongoing activity, including external behavior, verbal behavior and internal activity. Cognitive models refer to descriptions, prescriptions, and expectations about qualities and goals associated with a person’s sense of self. The cognitive self is a filter of incoming information. Social psychological models view the Self as subject and object, a relationship through which the Self is separated from itself. In narrative models, the Self concerns life stories that reconstruct the past and address the present and imagined future in unity. These are people’s stories about themselves. Existential-humanistic models deal with the Self, which tends to actualize itself. This leads to differentiation, symbolization and experience. A common feature of all models of the Self is their fragmentation. The prospect of their integration points to a hopeful future.

This orientation points to the need to meet certain professional requirements and possess qualities that have universal values. The quality of the mentor, identified as a priority by the results of a survey of students – participants of the Olympiad. The third feature of mentoring in the Olympiad movement is considered from the position of related interests of at least three subjects of interaction: teacher-mentor, students and educational institutions. Akopova M.A., Plyusnina I.V. ON THE QUESTION OF THE FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES OF FUTURE CORRECTIONAL TEACHERS IN THE PROCESS OF PRODUCTION PRACTICE // Pedagogical Review. 2021. Issue 5 (39). P. 9-20

The problem of improving the quality of training of future teachers remains relevant, despite numerous reforms in the field of vocational education. Employers, when assessing the competencies of graduates of pedagogical colleges and universities, note the lack of practical training. The graduates themselves note the difficulties in solving many practical issues that arise in the first days of their professional activity. The introduction of new federal state educational standards for secondary vocational education requires changes in the practiceoriented educational process. Modern pedagogical practice remains in fact the only available option for obtaining the primary experience of future teachers. However, many researchers note gaps in the organization of practical training of students. This affects the level of development of professional competencies of graduates. The data of the psychological and pedagogical research on the development of professional competencies of students-teachers are presented in the article. Our research is based on the idea of developing additional training modules aimed at independent practical work of students. Additional training modules offered to students included theoretical information, independent work aimed at creating a methodological development and its practical implementation. During the implementation of the experimental study, the authors diagnosed the expected and subjective increase in the level of development of professional competencies (based on the results of practical training). The results showed that the students who entered the experimental group and performed additional tasks in the course of practice in the studied modules had a slightly higher subjective assessment of the increase in the level of development of professional competencies after the internship than the students of the control group. Further research on these issues will provide more accurate data.

Gribova E.P. ACTIVATION OF MENTAL ACTIVITY AS A PEDAGOGICAL CONDITION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COGNITIVE ACTIVITY OF SENIOR PRESCHOOLERS // Pedagogical Review. 2021. Issue 6 (40). P. 9-16

The issue of the development of cognitive activity of senior preschoolers is considered. The development of this type of activity depends on a number of factors, among which pedagogical conditions can be distinguished. One of the effective pedagogical conditions for the development of the cognitive activity of older preschoolers is the maximum reliance on the active mental activity of children. The types of problem situations are listed: 1) situationchoice; 2) a situation of uncertainty; 3) conflict situation; 4) situation-paradox; 5) the situation with the hypothesis; 6) situation with the refutation; 7) situation-inconsistency. It is noted that the tension of an older preschooler of intellectual forces to solve tasks or search for an answer to a question is the basis for the development of his mental activity, cognitive interest and the manifestation of activity. The use of situations and questions of a problematic nature by the teacher in work with children of senior preschool age contributes to the intensification of the mental activity of children, thereby increasing their activity in the process of searching for new knowledge and information, the formation of new skills in the cognitive sphere. At the same time, the proposed methods should be used by the teacher not separately from each other, but in aggregate, since they complement each other, involving collective discussion of situations by children and the search for answers, problem solving, and productive cognitive activity. This article provides practical examples of proposed methods to stimulate children’s cognitive activity.

The article describes the technologies that allow students to form information, social, and professional competencies of future specialists that are in demand by the labor market. In the modern process of education, information and communication technologies are successfully used, allowing the use of computer office programs, graphic editors, Internet browsers, telecommunications and pedagogical distance technologies that involve the use of ICT. Remote interaction allows you to organize an educational process that provides communication between teachers and students indirectly through the telecommunications environment of the Internet. This helps to attract more students to educational and training activities and, consequently, expands the educational space. Extracurricular competitive events based on remote technologies are effective forms of work for improving the level of professional training and developing General competencies of students, including students with different educational needs and disabilities. The analysis of pedagogical, organizational, and procedural components of extracurricular remote competitive events organized by professional educational organizations allowed us to consider and introduce the concept of «extracurricular remote competitive technologies». The issue of actual extracurricular distance competitive technologies in the conditions of digitalization of education is considered. Kostyukova T.A., Shaposhnikova T.D., Kazantsev D.A. PREPARATION OF TEACHERS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SUBJECT AREA “FOUNDATIONS OF SPIRITUAL AND MORAL CULTURE OF THE PEOPLES OF RUSSIA”: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS // Pedagogical Review. 2021. Issue 6 (40). P. 53-63

The purpose of the study is to consider the problems of teacher preparation for teaching the subject “Fundamentals of Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics”: highlighting the value foundations, managing teacher training at the regional and local levels, comprehending effective options for solving acute issues in its implementation. The key problem of the teachers’ unpreparedness for effective activity in this area is revealed, connected with the lack of scientific understanding of traditional Russian spiritual values that lie at the core of the culture of each nation, for the development of which theological knowledge is necessary that is not studied in the process of basic professional training. Conclusions are made that this function is now accepted by the system of advanced training. It has been established that theological knowledge is understood as the result of the process of cognition and personal understanding of the religious tradition and its authentic reflection in the mind of the teacher on a cultural basis in the form of concepts and value-semantic life guidelines. An analysis of scientific sources and practice of spiritual and moral education of the younger generations gives grounds to assert that in modern Russian society, the cultural role of traditional Russian spiritual values is beginning to be more deeply understood, by which we mean the primordial, chosen by distant ancestors, axiological guidelines – peacefulness, sympathy, acceptance of the other, empathy and others that form the spiritual world of a growing person through an appeal to the deep foundations of the national mentality, which have passed a long way of approbation from generation to generation. However, when conducting advanced training courses for teachers in this area, one should choose an extremely correct position, focusing on cultural meanings, and not on religious dogma.

The article discusses the problem of fatherhood, the dynamics of ideas about the paternal role in modern society and the attitude to parental functions on the part of men themselves. The authors consider new trends in the performance of paternal functions from the standpoint of the features of generation Y (generation Peter Pan). Based on the analysis of scientific data, the authors showed the diversity of behavior of modern fathers, traced the connection of the paternal role and real parental practices of men with socio-cultural models of masculinity. In addition, they identified the contradiction between “social infantilism” and the orientation to freedom of many representatives of the Peter Pan generation and the increase in social expectations from the male father in terms of his involvement in the process of upbringing and taking care of children. The article contains the results of a comparative study conducted in line with the emic approach of the subjective aspects of the semantic meaning of the paternal role in married men of the Peter Pan generation who perform parental functions and their childless peers, including men who consider themselves childfree. Based on the data obtained in the study, the researchers conclude that the image of the father’s role in the representations of different groups of young men has a different semantic meaning, due to their subjective experiences of real personal experience of fatherhood associated with the fact of having/not having children and the desire to have such. In addition, the authors present data on the conditioning of the subjective meaning of fatherhood in young men by the degree of satisfaction with marriage.

Kosogova A.S., Kalinina N.V. HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE ASPECT OF GLOBALIZATION: CHOICE OF STRATEGIES // Pedagogical Review. 2019. Issue 4 (26). P. 60-66

The article deals with the concepts of “global world” and “global thinking” in their spatial and temporal meaning. The inclusion of global spatial and temporal aspects in the content of higher education determines the conceptuality of education, which has a positive impact on the quality of higher education. It is shown that the semantic formations of the personality are directly dependent on the temporal aspects of its existence, and they are important for the core structures of the personality semantic sphere. In this regard, the problems of modern higher education are highlighted. The necessity of more clear purpose designation of higher education with a projection on time aspects of the global world development is proved. It is determined that the quality of higher education is influenced by inefficient personnel formation of universities, in which there are few specialists in the field of education theory; it also suffers from the lack of individual training programs for students throughout the process. In higher education, as well as in science, there is a significant gap between theory and practice. The idea of global thinking formation among students as one of the strategies of higher education is defended. Directions of global thinking formation, taking into account its time aspect, are presented. Examples of practical solutions on the strategy choice in the educational process of higher education are given. The study showed that the formation of culture of cognitive activity ways translation allows students to discover the global, spiritual side of the activity, thereby strengthening the trend of more reasonable expectations of an optimistic future for young people.

Kopteva N.V. THE INTERRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DISEMBODIMENT AND CHANGES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL BORDERS AS THE NORMATIVE IMPLICATIONS OF THE USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES // Pedagogical Review. 2021. Issue 5 (39). P. 186-194

In the present study we compare the construct of disembodiment on the Internet (N. V. Kopteva, A.Ju. Kalugin, L.Ya. Dorfman) based on the clinical conception by the British existential psychologist R. Laing and measured by the same-name technique to the framework consequence of the normative use of the Internet - changes of the psychological borders (E. I. Rasskazova, V. A. Emelin and A. Sh. Tkhostov) assessed by MIG-TS-2 technique. We identified the relationship between measurements of disembodiment and parameters of changes of psychological borders which may indicate that artificial technological split between the mental self and the physical body of a user creates conditions for confusion on the boundary between self and non-self. Expansion and blurring of the borders of an Internet user reinforces virtualizationinduced experiences of depersonalization and loss of reality regardless of whether the technology meets their expectations of availability and controllability of other people, objects and information or doesn’t. Motivation of Internet preference due to the opportunities that independence of the physical body and changes of boundaries present mostly follows the same pattern. Simplicity and easiness of the disembodied technological way of being within the expanded blurry borders makes the Web attractive and explains the relationship between the disembodiment and Internet addiction which can be viewed as distortion of normative technological disembodiment in cases of problematic user’s activity.

Pozdeeva S.I., Chubykina O.A. METAMETHODICS AS THE BASIS FOR CONSTRUCTING LEARNING ACTIVITIES // Pedagogical Review. 2020. Issue 6 (34). P. 67-72

The problem of improving the quality of methodological and subject training of future teachers is raised. Subject and methodological deficits of graduates of pedagogical universities actualize attention to the issues of metamethodics, which is interpreted by the authors as a link between the laws of classical didactics and the principles of teaching methods for individual academic subjects. It is shown that even the classics of didactics spoke about the need to allocate a special area in pedagogy, which will generalize empirical methodological experience and thereby identify the most effective forms and methods of teaching. It is assumed that the methodology can link the teaching and learning paradigms, focus on the managerial aspect of pedagogical activity, and develop effective learning scenarios. Reflections on metamethodics allow the authors to identify a special professional competence of a modern teacher: metamethodics as a set of subject, methodological and activity aspects. Due to this, the methodology can become a new theoretical basis for building educational activities at different levels and in different types of education. In the future, it will be important to study metametodics as an interdisciplinary phenomenon and identify its educational resources for building educational activities taking into account current global trends in the development of education.

Usanin S.S. STRUCTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL MODEL OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE READINESS OF INFORMATION PROTECTION SPECIALISTS FOR PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES // Pedagogical Review. 2021. Issue 4 (38). P. 130-139

The article examines a structural-functional model of the development of readiness to develop the readiness of information security specialists for professional activity in the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation. The highlighted components: normative-conceptual, program-target, professional-activity and control-assessment will allow developing the necessary level that will be sufficient for performing professional activities in the Russian Guard. The methodological basis of the developed model is the competence-based and system-activity approaches, which allow the conceptual-orienting function of the training process of future information security specialists. The use of the system-activity approach in the structural-functional model of readiness development is understood as a new expression of the activity approach, which is currently of great interest to most scientists and researchers. The analysis of the reviews received from the commanders of the military units of the Russian Guard on the graduates of the faculty (communications) of the Perm Military Institute of the National Guard troops showed the need, when organizing the educational process, to consider in more depth the issues of ensuring the protection of information, taking the necessary measures to certify the allocated premises, developing a practical component to repel hacker and other attacks on the information space of the National Guard. The basis of the technology for training information security specialists for professional activities is the implementation of a specialized course for conducting «Cyber training», which includes a set of practical and laboratory work. The situational tasks developed in the same specialized course, compiled on the basis of their own experience in ensuring the protection of information as a supervisory authority, will allow future information security specialists to avoid stereotyped errors when organizing security checks of objects and adjust their professional activities.

Anufriyeva T.N. The component composition of the modern engineer’s soft skills // Pedagogical Review. 2023. Issue 4 (50). P. 7-16

The concept of professional competence as well as the elements included in it were considered which made it possible to develop a visualization called «Components of professional competence». The roles and functions of an engineer in modern society were outlined and this served as the basis for the statement about the need to develop soft skills for successful professional activity in engineering environment. An analysis of scientific research, as well as a survey of students and graduates of technical university was conducted in order to clarify and update the list of soft skills demanded in the intellectual labor market in the field of engineering professions. The results of the analysis allowed to build a conditional hierarchy of the priority of soft skills for engineers today. The obtained data formed the basis for updating the competency model of an engineer (technical university graduate). The results of the survey made it possible to present a linear prioritization of soft skills for representatives of engineering specialties. The developed matrix of correlation between universal competences and soft skills clearly confirms the correlation of these phenomena and, as a consequence, proves the necessity of including (and developing) soft skills in university education programs at the theoretical level.

Tupichkina E.A., Andriyenko N.K., Semenaka S.I. TRADITIONAL AND INNOVATIVE VALUES IN THE INFORMATION SOCIETY: THE PROBLEM OF INTERFERENCE // Pedagogical Review. 2022. Issue 5 (45). P. 20-29

The article actualizes the problem of ongoing changes in the value orientations of young people in the modern information society, which sets the task of studying this process. The text defines the understanding of the essence of the category “value”, reveals philosophical, sociological, psychological and pedagogical approaches to its definition. Special attention is paid to the description of traditional values, which acquire special significance in a situation of impermanence, uncertainty characteristic of modern society and the entire world space, since it is traditional culture that largely supports stability and order as the basis for the functioning of any society. The article provides a typology of traditional values and reveals approaches to their content. The article describes the innovative social values that have emerged in connection with the processes of digitalization taking place in society, which include information, knowledge, intellectual capital, virtual reality. The features of interference (interaction) of traditional and innovative values are revealed. The possibilities of using Internet technologies in order to establish a dialogical interaction of values are analyzed, at the same time attention is drawn to the need for real communication of subjects of life activity aimed at understanding the ongoing transformational processes in the field of value orientations. The task of the need to find a mechanism for the dialogical coexistence of two value systems, an adequate choice of the appropriation of innovative values by a person, taking into account the preservation of relevant traditions and spirituality, is posed. The solution of this problem is connected, on the one hand, with the comprehension of traditional values, and, on the other hand, the development of critical thinking in the younger generation, which provides the ability to analyze incoming value-relevant information, realize, give it an adequate assessment, make informed decisions, on the basis of which to form a morally justified attitude to certain values, relevant to modern society and meeting the principles of universal morality and on their basis to build their behavior.

Semenova N.A., Nikitin A.A. Value-semantic guidelines of future teachers: analysis of concepts and review of research at the present stage // Pedagogical Review. 2024. Issue 6 (58). P. 154-169

The article describes the results of the analysis of the studies of the value-semantic foundations of training future teachers. Value guidelines and value-semantic orientations act as value-semantic foundations of training future teachers. Value guidelines are key concepts that are the basis for setting goals and choosing activities. Value-semantic orientations are part of the personality structure, which includes personal meanings, motives, and interests. Value-semantic orientations determine the direction of an individual’s activity and become a determinant of its development. The value-semantic orientations of a teacher are related to his professional activity. It is important that the value system that the teacher transmits to the future generation depends on them. The authors present the results of a review of dissertation research and peer-reviewed scientific publications over the past three years (2022-2024). It has been revealed that the research is aimed at identifying the value of specific parts of the educational process, at applying the value-semantic approach to describe educational practices, at describing the conditions for the formation of students’ value attitudes to something. A large number of scientific papers are devoted to the value-semantic orientations of teachers and students in the context of continuous pedagogical education. Questions remain open about how the same unified value-semantic foundations of pedagogical education should be implemented in the context of a single educational space.

Pavlov V.Y., Bobina O.N., Vyazigin A.Y. PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE FORMATION AMONG STUDENTS OF HIGHER PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTIONS FOR THE TRAINING OF QUALIFIED KETTLEBELL LIFTERS // Pedagogical Review. 2022. Issue 1 (41). P. 60-69

The article presents the rationale, the development and results of testing of educational material on the topic “Training of highly qualified athletes” for academic disciplines in power sports, pedagogical physical culture and sports improvement taught at universities and at the faculties of physical culture and sports. The rationale for the content of the educational topic is based on scientific and methodological approaches to the planning of training loads in sports, theories and methods of sports training. The methodology of training highly qualified athletes according to the “pyramid” system is used in many sports, such as weightlifting, sambo, swimming, etc., but this system has not been used in kettlebell lifting, therefore it requires its own justification. From all of the above, the study of the training methodology for qualified high-skilled kettlebell lifters at the pre-competition stage is quite relevant. A program has been developed for training qualified guards on the preset stage according to the Pyramid system. The percentage ratio of the volume of general physical and special physical training and tonnage of the main and auxiliary exercises on the preset stage is determined. The effectiveness of the developed program for the preparation of qualified guards on the preset stage on the Pyramid system was experimentally proved. The educational material, theoretically substantiated, developed and tested in the training process of kettlebell lifters, is introduced into the content of the educational topic “Training of highly qualified athletes” of disciplines taught at the faculties of physical culture and sports.

Chervonnyy M.A., Igna O.N. Pedagogical initiative: the concept, key components and classifications // Pedagogical Review. 2024. Issue 5 (57). P. 44-53

The work is devoted to the phenomenon of initiative in the professional development of a student – a future teacher, to the study of the theory and practice of applying teacher training models based on the manifestation of professional initiatives. Different concepts and directions of “initiative” of students – future teachers at different levels of their education are considered. The object of study is the meaning formation of initiative in the structure of pedagogical knowledge, the features of its development in various conditions. To determine the dominant elements, classification, and identify sustainable models for the development of initiative, a structural analysis of various concepts was carried out, and current models for the formation of pedagogical initiative were identified. The sets of principles contributing to the development of initiative in education are identified. General theoretical principles include the principle of pragmatism; the principle of consciousness. Particular principles of working with students’ initiative are as follows: ensuring independent work of teachers in transferring previously acquired knowledge and skills to a new situation, using interactivity in the educational process, focusing on students’ search for subjectively new information during independent integration of the basis of a standard action into a solution, creating conditions for work with information and information technologies. The principles of personality development are considered as the main triggers that ensure the launch of an initiative. The initiative of a modern teacher is included in the system of his basic competencies as an immanent professional quality, at the same time it is determined by his individual characteristics, in particular, the possession of intuition, the ability to improvise.

Theoretical and methodological approaches to the training of a transprofessional in the conditions of a professional pedagogical university on the basis of specially prepared sites of the department are presented. Analyzing the accumulated experience, the conclusion arises that it is necessary to study issues (concretization, clarification, updating) from the field of technologyoriented training due to the lack of a holistic view of the formation of the personality of a specialist capable of self-improvement and self-realization in the transdisciplinary areas of machine-building industries. Currently, in professional education, a system of training a specialist with a wide production profile is presented, but it does not sufficiently take into account the structural and content component of technology-oriented activities, the absence of which is compensated by the acquisition of experience already in the conditions of the enterprise (production). The specifics of preparing for the WorldSkills competition on the basis of a transdisciplinary approach are substantiated, the target setting and the result of each component of the activity of the structural and content model are specified. The component composition of the model includes examples of modular tasks developed using the «skills-case» method and are aimed at transprofessional training of contestants in the conditions of simulation sites of the department. The use of the «skills-case» method allows you to prepare a larger number of contestants of the championship at a qualitatively new level in the learning process, as well as in the conditions of practice not only in the chosen profession, but also in related transprofessional areas.

Ovsyannikova Y.N. The role and tools of the tutor in the research work of students of universities // Pedagogical Review. 2023. Issue 4 (50). P. 104-111

The connection between the actualization of individualization of the trajectories of students with the introduction of Bologna system of education and the new requirements of the labor market was proved. Further, the practical significance of the tutor in scientific work was substantiated. A lacuna in the study of scientific tutor in domestic and foreign practices was indicated. There were highlighted essential features of the tutor, and the understanding of the tutor as a medium between the student and society. The tutor’s goal is not to satisfy the individual needs of an individual student, but to bring him in accordance with certain ideas and ideals of an educated person. As a result of this definition of the tutor, several tools are presented. The selection of tools was made on the basis of tutor’s characteristics. The author tested these tools during his work as the deputy dean for scientific work of the faculty. The first tool was an individual scientific development plan, in which students formulate their shortand long-term plans. The second tool was roadmaps, which are needed in order to present students with possible ways to develop their academic and scientific careers. Another tool was to support the work of the scientific student community. As a result, the problem of scaling this practice is indicated.

The article is devoted to the problem of the development of the communicative culture of adolescents in the system of additional education in the era of informatization and digitalization. To solve this problem, the author proposes a model for the development of the communicative culture of adolescents, taking into account the peculiarities of the representatives of the digital generation and the specifics of the organization of the educational process in the institution of additional education in the conditions of its informatization and digitalization. The article considers the structural and functional model of the development of communicative culture in the system of additional education, represented by the target, conceptual, diagnostic-analytical, content-technological and performance-evaluation blocks. All components of the model are interconnected and serve to achieve the result – the transition to a higher level of development of the communicative culture of adolescents. And this, in turn, is one of the priority tasks of the education system in the direction of developing communication skills and socializing the personality of a teenager. The implementation of the model in institutions of additional education will increase the effectiveness of the communicative development of adolescents, form a culture of interpersonal communication, organize the interaction of the family, school and institutions of additional education. It is worth noting that when implementing this model in the long term, it is possible to increase the academic performance of adolescents in the humanities, the formation of a culture of communication among adolescents in social networks, and the reduction of destructive conflicts in the chi ld-adult community.

Ankvab M.F. PRE-EMPTIVE APPROVAL OF THE DIDACTIC IMPACT IN ABKHAZIAN FOLK PEDAGOGY // Pedagogical Review. 2019. Issue 6 (28). P. 185-190

As part of the study of the features of the Abkhazian folk pedagogy, the article considers special means of edifying influence on the younger generation. An act of caution, the tenetseducation, intimidating – the phenomena that have existed in ethnopedagogy from time immemorial, are designed to protect, reason. The act of caution is widely known in ethnopedagogic science, but little attention is paid to its study and systematization. It is worth noting the absence of significant works on the study of this aspect, collections of people’s warnings, allowing to deeply reveal their essence and content. The most used edifying expressions used by Abkhazians in everyday life were provided to the authors by informants, representatives of this ethnic group living on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. Other sources were the works of folklore, as warnings are found in the oral folk art of Abkhazians. The scientific novelty of the experience discussed in the article lies in the lack of due attention to this kind of means of education, including emotional. The relevance of the analysis of this means of education lies in its excessive effectiveness, the lack of need to resort to other methods of persuasion. The purpose of the study of the issue of warnings is the desire to isolate the positive and negative sides of such an impact and to determine the possibility of its application, taking into consideration the requirements and norms of modern pedagogy and modern realities. The Abkhazian people forged their own measures of warnings, tested them for centuries in order to choose what suits the young change of this particular ethnic group. Despite the uniqueness of the means under discussion, their study will be of interest and may be useful to all mankind.

Pigarev A.Y. IMPLEMENTING COGNITIVE TRAINING IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING MATHEMATICS // Pedagogical Review. 2022. Issue 1 (41). P. 36-43

Lack of working memory leads to a persistent inability to learn mathematics. Additional lessons with a teacher do not solve the problem of lagging behind the program. Correction of working memory or adaptation of the curriculum to the characteristics of a given student is required. Working memory can be trained, however, cognitive improvement does not automatically translate into academic performance due to the deep lag behind these students from the program. It is proposed to train working memory in the context of mathematical knowledge. The author has created a system of computer trainers for working memory based on the key sections of the school curriculum in mathematics. There are eight trainers: mental counting and skills in working with a trigonometric circle, solving proportions and square inequalities, solving a right-angled triangle. Trainers are available free of charge on the website https://www.workingmemory.ru/ (registration is required). Embedding cognitive training in educational content removes the problem of far transfer, since the positive effect on academic performance is immediately apparent. The problem of motivation for training working memory also disappears, since the content basis of the trainers is the requirements of the school curriculum. The time limit for one exercise, the number and duration of exercise to reach the limit values vary widely. This confirms the significant individual differences in working memory. The hypothesis was confirmed that the strategy of using resources of working memory is improved as a result of training (not the volume of its short-term storage). The conclusion is made on the analysis of statistical data on working with the “Forest Marathon” trainer, in which it is required to hold and transform in the mind from one to five numbers.

Bokhan T.G., Shabalovskaya M.V., Terekhina O.V. TO THE QUESTION OF THE BASES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT OF EDUCATION AMONG FOREIGN STUDENTS FROM THE POSITION OF THE ANTHROPO-SYSTEM APPROACH IN PSYCHOLOGY // Pedagogical Review. 2022. Issue 5 (45). P. 158-168

The foundations of psychological support for the adaptation process among foreign students are considered from the standpoint of the anthropo-system approach. Within the framework of this approach, it is established that psychological stress acts as a mechanism of self-development, selfrealization and personal growth of a person. In this connection, the work with the adaptation among foreign students should be focused on the development of constructive strategies, resources and skills of students to overcome emerging difficulties, methods and skills of intercultural communication, as well as on creating conditions (internal and external) for creative self-realization, which will allow students to become more sensitive and aware of their own changes, and more sensitive in relation to the capabilities of the environment. It is determined that such activity, aimed both at finding the conditions of the environment for the realization of their meanings and values, and at its active transformation, makes it possible to improve both the quality of life and the subjective well-being among young people. It is established that the main indicators of successful adaptation and the possibility of foreign students’ self-realization in the multicultural educational space of the university are subjective quality of life, positive ethnic identity and tolerance.

Sapogova E.E. Irrationality as a resource for coping with uncertainty // Pedagogical Review. 2024. Issue 3 (55). P. 90-99

Transformations connected with modern processes of informatization and digitalization make a person’s habitual living environment fundamentally different and change himself, requiring new forms of behavior and choices of a model of action. In the paradigm of existential psychology, the article substantiates the thesis about irrationality as a potential resource for coping with the experience of discomfort of uncertainty. The author reviews irrationality as a manner of thinking, as a way of behavior in a diverse social reality, as a mode of existence of an individual in conditions of uncertainty and as an integral part of the modern self. The novelty of the author’s approach lies in the fact that irrationality is seen as a specific extra way of compensating for the accelerating obsolescence of individual experience, the non-adulting of contemporary people and the becoming of a fragmentary identity. Using irrationality contributes to the transformation of modern man into an “open system” and actualizes the ability to behave, shifting the frames between the already accepted, “own” senses and values of the subject and those potentially possible and realizable for him. A comparative analysis of the possibilities of rational and irrational behavior in situations where existing experience is insufficient but a person cannot avoid the need to make decisions and act is carried out. The author formulates provisions about the possibilities of an irrational attitude in interaction with reality as the basis of transgressive behavior and the use of new possible “logics” (axiologic, Bayesian logic, imaginative logic) in a person’s exploration of reality and himself.

Shcherbatykh A.A. MEDIATION AND INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS // Pedagogical Review. 2022. Issue 3 (43). P. 101-112

The term “mediation” has been introduced into the methodological literature on teaching foreign languages in 2001. But despite this, teachers need to improve qualifications in the understanding of this term, as in the native methodology there is a problem of lack of research in the field of mediation, especially in the field of learning a foreign language. Modern society attaches great importance to communicative connections and relationships. Society needs a person who has flexible thinking, the ability to express his thoughts correctly and easily interact with others. Forming these skills at the same time promotes to grow an all-round personality who will be able to be a mediator in communication with another culture. The purpose of the research will be to analyze the results of the teacher’s questionnaires for their ideas about the need to form mediation and intercultural skills, determine the level of their formation and assessment. Test were developed and implemented to determine the initial level and final results of intercultural and mediation skills for students. They were based on the proposed recommendations for the lessons. According to the results of testing, it can be noted that during the initial testing, students have a low level of mediation and intercultural skills formation. But with using recommendations in the lesson, the level improves. The results of the research and author’s developments show the importance of the mediation and intercultural competencies formation and may be interesting to English teachers working in the secondary school.

Saybedinov A.G., Kuznetsova L.V., Gerasimenko T.B. FEATURES OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BLOCK OF SUBJECTS OF THE CREATIVE CYCLE IN THE CONCEPT OF EMOTIONAL EDUCATION // Pedagogical Review. 2022. Issue 3 (43). P. 19-25

The article discusses the features of the implementation of the concept of emotional education. One of its significant characteristics is the change in the content of education. This change implies a qualitative balance of natural-scientific and artistic-aesthetic education. In modern schools, the balance is broken, natural science disciplines prevail. The potential of the subjects of the artistic and aesthetic cycle is extremely underestimated by the world education system and reduced to the level of formation of primary skills, which initially deprives the school of systemic resources for creative development. In the concept of emotional education, a block of subjects of the creative cycle was developed and implemented according to the author’s programs of A. Saybedinov, conditions were created for the effective influence of creativity on the learning and upbringing process as a whole. The results of the school’s work show the effectiveness of their implementation, both in terms of achieving educational results, intellectual and creative development, and social and educational effects. The system of emotional education in the Governor’s Svetlensky Lyceum is shown, which includes the subjects: “Fine Arts” (grades 1-7), “Practical Philosophy”, “Art History” (grades 8-11), “Fundamentals of Design” (grades 5-11). The necessity of a system of ungraded teaching of educational results of children within the framework of these disciplines is emphasized. The results of external monitoring of the work of the school show the effectiveness of their implementation, both in terms of achieving educational results, intellectual and creative development, and social and educational effects.
