| 351 | An analytical review of the problem of the development of analytical skills of students at the university is presented. A comparative characteristic of the concepts «analytical skills» and «analytical abilities» is given. It is concluded that analytical ability is a personality trait, and an analytical skill is the acquired experience of activity. The main mental actions underlying analytical skills are considered. Comparison of two groups of analytical skills is given: analytical-prognostic and analytical-reflexive. The thesis is substantiated that the development of analytical skills is impossible without obtaining new knowledge. Considerable attention is paid to the structure of the concept of «analytical skills». The need for the development of analytical skills among students for the professional development of future specialists is determined. It is concluded that the development of analytical skills takes time, this is a long, systemic process in professional education. The factors (positive and negative) influencing the development of students’ analytical skills are revealed. In the article, the authors focus on assignments and exercises (case assignments) aimed at developing students’ analytical skills. To diagnose the level of development of analytical skills of students, indicators have been developed, as well as the characteristics of the levels of development of analytical skills of university students - low, medium, high. The authors present the results of a pilot study to identify the level of development of analytical skills of students in humanitarian areas of training. The study was conducted in universities in the cities of Stavropol and Krasnodar. The results of the study showed that students have a predominantly medium and low level of development of analytical skills. | 353 | A survey of university teachers (130 people) from various study areas was conducted to identify the prevailing attitudes and judgments about the implementation and prospects for the development of various formats of higher education in an unstable epidemiological situation and changing socioeconomic conditions. The authors attempted to analyze the factors that determined the survey results and the challenges of creating conditions ensuring the optimal implementation of various formats in a modern university. The successful experience of the university faculty in a number of projects in the development of the digital educational environment at the international and all-Russian level is described. Inferior learning outcomes in the online format in comparison with face-to-face and blended format were reported by the respondents. The survey revealed an optimistic view of the teaching community regarding the prospects for the development of a blended format. Blended and face-to-face formats were preferred by the majority of respondents, regardless of their teaching experience at the university. Questions about the level of online education, effective tools for assessing its quality, measures to encourage online work turned out to be the most “sensitive”, which was reflected in the significant proportion of evasive answer to the above questions. Higher education ecosystems often lack professionals specializing in instructional design, data analysis, educational program development, educational technologies, etc., which adversely affects the quality of educational products. | 361 | The article is based on the idea of the socio-psychological nature of gender and contains information on the mechanisms of gender socialization (formation of images of femininity and masculinity) with the help of such agents as family, school, mass culture and literature. The traditional Russian, Soviet and Western types of femininity and masculinity are characterized and tendencies of feminization of public space are noted, as well as coexistence of both traditional, and egalitarian gender models in modern Russian culture. The unique rank of Russian femininity are identified in comparison to Western European femininity. Its origins, first, in Russian folklore, where the image of the wise virgin is vividly represented and then migrates to literature, and secondly, in religion (in Western culture the image of the virgin Mary, Madonna is sung and gives rise to a courtly culture, in Orthodoxy the aspect of motherhood of the mother of God is more important). Femininity in Russian religious philosophy, in contrast to ancient and Eastern philosophy, is associated with divine wisdom, and not with the dark and chaotic. These trends also exist in the literature. The article provides an overview of works by Russian and foreign authors, traditionally included into course syllabi at Russian schools (5-11 grades) and act as the agents of gender socialization. They portrey the image of a strong, self-sufficient and integral Russian woman, while men are depicted in different ways, often hesitating, unable to cope with the test of love. The image of a femme fatale is not typical for Russian culture and literature, as well as the image of a male knight. The paper drew attention to the difficulties in describing of Russian masculinity as portrayed in literature outside the military-Patriotic context. At this time, genre literature draws more unambiguous images of men, but contributes to the formation of gender stereotypes, so there is a problem of selection of texts with positive examples of masculinity. | 364 | The article presents an analysis of the process of professionalization and institutionalization of social work in Vietnam, and also describes the historical and current trends in the development of the national educational system in the context of the formation of a new profession – “social work”. The characteristic of the main trends that distinguish the development of vocational training in social work in Vietnam is given. The integration of Vietnam into the educational space of Asia has led to the intensification of international cooperation between domestic higher education institutions and foreign ones in the implementation of various types of educational activities, one of which is the training of social workers. An important area of effective cooperation is a comparative study of this experience, its focus on enriching pedagogical theory with innovative ideas and concepts, identifying opportunities for creative use of constructive ideas of foreign experience in the education of Vietnam. In recent years, Vietnam has increased attention to the study of various aspects of modernization of education. A positive development is the training of many lecturers and young scientists abroad. It is also commendable that some of them undergo training in the field of social work. The main substantive characteristics of vocational training in social work in Vietnam are described, which was considered as a complex socio-historical phenomenon, a systematic pedagogical process with a dialectic of formation and development in public life and educational activities, its own educational-theoretical and practical concepts, socialmotivational and pedagogical conditionality, as well as the corresponding structure: purpose, objectives, content, implementation technology, quality assessment, general sociopedagogical mechanisms of effective functioning. An analysis of the results of studies conducted on the problem of vocational training in Vietnamese universities showed that in the process of vocational training of students, the content of social education is determined among the dominant tasks, taking into account the foreign experience of vocational training of specialists in social work. | 365 | The methodological features of the course “Modern History of the Countries of Asia and Africa”, which the author reads for historian students at TSPU, are examined, relying on a brief comparative analysis of textbooks on relevant issues. The chronological framework of the course, based on the oriental approach, is substantiated: manifestations of a systemic or structural crisis in the countries, that took place in the 17th – first half of the 18th centuries are selected as the starting line, for the most part, revolutionary events or important milestones of the national liberation struggle – for the finite. The author’s version of the course structure is proposed, based on the “call-and-answer” concept of A. J. Toynbee: the material is divided into three parts – “internal challenge” (crises of the beginning of the Modern Time), “external challenge” (forms and consequences of Western powers colonial policy in the East), “response” (reaction of the population of Asian and African countries to internal and external challenges). The theoretical basis of the course is described, which has a comprehensive character and includes a civilizational approach, elements of a Marxist theory and a theory of modernization, the first being responsible for structuring micro-level material, the second and third provide macro-level generalization. | 366 | The paper studies some aspects of the formation of universal competencies (UC) in the course of theoretical physics for students of pedagogical universities. As an example, a fragment of the course of classical mechanics is selected, associated with finding the law of motion of the body in Newton’s formulation. Four types of tasks are considered, which differ mainly in the nature of the time dependence of the resulting force. When solving the problems of the module “Classical Mechanics” of a course in theoretical physics, knowledge from mathematical courses (Mathematical Analysis, Differential Equations) is actively used, which stimulates the students’ analytical and creative intellectual activity. The relevance of the topic is that the course of theoretical physics combines the disciplines of the natural science and mathematical cycles, and it is important to be able to fully use the knowledge accumulated by students to reach a new, integral level of understanding of educational information. The novelty of this approach is that it makes it possible to simultaneously form the scientific, research thinking of students; mastering the teaching methods of physical and mathematical disciplines (which is important for future teachers); to develop the creative potential of students when choosing a particular decision algorithm. The article shows how, when solving selected problems, students form a set of competencies of the UС-1 group. | 367 | А creative behavior of a person in the natural conditions of life is considered and analyzed. The advantages of studying the creative manifestations of subjects (children of primary school age) in a free situation typical for the natural real creative process are substantiated. The parameters of free situation, singled out and used in the experimental study, and the factors that stimulate the creative manifestations of children, such as the representation of the example of creative behavior of a significant adult, emotional and creative contact of the adult with children, etc., allowed us to establish that the types of creative reactions of children to the example of creative behavior of an adult can be either immediate or delayed, with the delayed manifestations of creative abilities being the predominant ones. This allowed us to identify the phenomenon of delayed creative manifestations, which is associated with the incubation period both in relation to the creative process (during the realization of the creative intention – the fruition and maturation of the creative idea), and with respect to the formation of creative abilities resulting from the accumulation of new personal experience. This experience is connected, in our opinion, with the opportunity for subjects (children) to manifest creative behavior, encouraged by the teacher (significant adult) who demonstrated himself the example of creativity to schoolkids. Keywords: natural experiment, free situation, example of creative behavior of an adult, creative reactions of children, immediate creative manifestations, delayed creative manifestations | 2410 | |||||
| 368 | In recent decades, the Russian family has undergone profound changes in relations between generations of parents and children. There is a practice-justified view that Russian children were never as different from parents by their mentality as in today’s reality. The retrospective analysis carried out in the article of the family’s performance of its educational function with regard to children differentiated by sex shows the importance and place of each parent in the formation of the child’s personality. The conducted survey of schoolchildren in five regions of Russia (2019) and comparison of its results with the data of a similar survey of ten years ago (2009) make it possible to draw conclusions about trends in family education, as well as about which parents most successfully perform their educational role in the modern Russian family. In retrospect of the last ten years, alarming conclusions are being formulated about the reduction of parents’ authority as advisers. In the dynamics of these years there is a decrease in the attitude of children to be similar to their parents. Attention is drawn to the fact that most children do not view the family environment as comfortable for cohabitation with parents, which indicates the factors of disadvantage of these families. The desire of children to assert their financial independence by independently earning money for pocket expenses has been revealed. There is an increase in the number of children evading the answer about the sources of money, which may indicate improper practices in obtaining it. The given data of the comparative study make it possible to conclude that there has been an increase in certain deformation of parental roles in the family over the past ten years. The task of the family today is to contribute to the formation of life guidelines of children, offering them reliable starting conditions for achieving success. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the analysis of the influence of educational actions (omissions) of each parent on the formation of immunity in children from possible external negative influences taking into account modern social risks in society. | 370 | The needs of the developing economy, its interest to maintain the most successful Russian schools of science, to provide it’s continuity by educating the new generation of researchers ground the necessity to involve the educational institutions teachers and students into fundamental research. The research competency developed in students characterizes their subjectivity and their need for the continuous cognition. The development of the competency requires teaching the students the ways of self-dependent obtaining and processing of scientific information in the self-dependent research practice – within the framework of the competency-based approach. The research competency includes: theoretical knowledge of research methods, the ways of systematic processing of the empirical data, the ability to formulate conclusions and to present research results, the ability to use the knowledge in a particular research. The research competency also includes a complex of a researcher’s personal qualities. The research competency is an integrated personal quality of the subject of learning (the learner). The quality finds its expression through the subject’s capability and ability for self-dependent obtaining of the new knowledge by transferring the meaning context of the subject’s activity from functional to the transformative one. The definition provided may serve as a basis for the choice of the strategy of the development of the research competency of the future teacher in Technology. The competency is to include: the acquirement of the specialized knowledge on performing the research activity, methods of obtaining scientific knowledge; the development and adoption of the value ideals and qualities by the subject, which promote the subject’s ability to go beyond the existing level of the system of the subject’s knowledge of oneself and the world; the acquirement of the practical experience of the use of the research activity in the pedagogical work. The content of the educational field “Crafts” determines the content of the Crafts teacher training. It implies that the teacher of Crafts is to be able to give economical, ecological, technological education and to provide informational support for it; to teach the inventive problem solving; to develop the students’ skills in design, etc. The main document that regulates the process is the work program, which is to be developed by the Crafts teacher. The program is to reflect the students’ projected understanding: of the production, realization and consumption of the material values; of the culture of labor and household life; of the necessity and special aspects of the citizen’s professional self-determination; to form the non-verbal sphere of the human. For the development of such program, its implementation and further correction the teacher is to possess a wide range of the research competencies. Among them are: the ability to perform the analysis of the school’s material and technical resources available; to involve the facilities of the industry of the region into the educational process; to use the students’ inclinations and aspirations for their education, etc. Keywords: research competency, peculiarities of the educational field “Crafts”, the content of the research competency of the future Crafts teacher, the complex of the Crafts teacher’s research problems | 2409 | |||||
| 371 | The dynamic and multitasking character of the educational process in a tertiary institution implies the development and refinement of a knowledge quality evaluation system, which is based primarily on the school-leaving, entrance, or midterm examinations, as well as other assessment procedures being in practice in various educational institutions. In particular, the class of such procedures includes test checks, which, on the one hand, act as an effective tool, which expedites learning activities of foreign language students, and, on the other hand, reveals the level of their foreign-language competence. Testing results allow constructing a rating scale, which would demonstrate vividly students’ achievements in learning a foreign language. This paper presents a detailed description of the reading skill testing procedure used at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in the international English language examinations in the CAE (C1), TOEFL, and IELTS formats, comparative analysis of the results demonstrated by students, and general and special recommendations, which are based on the choice of this or that reading strategy for successful passing of an international exam. The authors believe that monitoring of reading skills in the testing format proves to be rather successful from the viewpoint of evaluation of linguistic competence, since a test contributes to maximum intensification of a student’s intellectual activity and is a perfect tool for verification of other linguistic skills, which is demonstrated by the results shown by the students who pass the international exams. The paper includes generalized data about test duration, volume, structure, and contents of the tests, analysis of the structure and types of the tests in the above-mentioned examination formats, and a description of the tasks to be fulfilled by the testee in the testing process, which are correlated with the three modes (regimes) of reading and the specific features of information processing that are typical of each of such reading modes. The authors give special attention to reading for specific information and scanning, reading for gist or skimming, and reading for detail, since the skills in reading for specific information and scanning and in reading for gist or skimming should be formed by students with allowance for the foreign language teaching practice accepted at HSE, and the skills of reading for detail should be upgraded. A significant factor in the testing process is the time spent by students on the quality test performance. The novelty of the approach lies in the maturity level of reading skills of first- and secondyear students, found in the process of an examination based on the international testing methods. Such a way of assessment and monitoring is a significant step forward in the development of the methods used to monitor students’ academic progress and retention of educational materials. | 372 | This article discusses the problem of developing and implementing a model of third-age education aimed at developing their social competence. The issue of training people of third age is relevant and solved in the works of domestic and foreign research from the point of view of formation and development of certain competences in conditions of continuous education. The third age refers to the period after the termination of professional activity characterized by the continuation of an active lifestyle to reveal its potential and opportunities. Teaching people of third age is a process based on the fundamental provisions of andragogics, gerogogics, adapted to the individual, psychological and social characteristics of students. Aimed at the empowerment, adaptation, socialization and self-actualization of people after retirement and termination of their professional activities. Which forms their social competence, as well as enabling them to develop effective strategies of adaptive behavior and learn to live in conditions of uncertainty. The methodological basis of this process is the personality-oriented, activity-oriented, axiological approach. The present study is based on a competency-based approach to the development of universal competences, which include social competence. The model developed and introduced into the educational process of the Higher People’s School is based on andragological and gerontological principles and includes four interrelated blocks: targeted, meaningful, organizational, and effective. A special place in the model is assigned to the program of social competence development. The programme consists of five modules that ensure the targeted development of all components of social competence. Third-age education is provided through formal and informal educational activities. The training process uses: traditional lectures with mandatory use of ICT technologies, problem lectures, conference lectures, binary lectures, seminar lectures, etc.; seminar lectures on which knowledge gained at lectures, abilities, skills and competences goes deep and systematized; practical exercises (testing, games, etc.); training occupations; conferences. The classes use individual and group forms of training; active, interactive, and visual learning methods. The program of training at the higher public school gives the chance to people of the third age to receive a certain level of knowledge, abilities, skills and competences, to find confidence in their abilities and to realize the potential of physical, intellectual, educational resources and free time. The presented model implies realization of such psychological and pedagogical conditions in the course of education, which influence the effectiveness of the process of development of social competence in people of the third age. The implemented model of education has shown its effectiveness in the development of social competence of people of the third age and has contributed to socio-psychological adaptation, socialization and self-actualization of people of the third age in modern dynamically developing conditions. | 375 | In the new standard one of the important formed actions is problem solving. The solution to any problem begins with a question that a researcher or a student who has a difficulty has posed to himself. This requirement stems from modern standards for school education. The world has become so complex that a person has problems in any field of activity. At school No. 49 in Tomsk, one of the programs for the development of a teacher is aimed at teaching pupils to solve educational problems. At the beginning of its formation, primary school students were trained in this, but then it became necessary to teach elementary students to the elements of the program. Teaching primary school students the ability to solve first the simplest problems revealed the need to train them to ask questions, since the problem itself is formulated as a question. In the educational culture there are different types of questions. Not all types of questions cause students to solve a problem. But, different types of questions are needed to solve it. They serve to understand the text, the situation, the problem, as a result of which it is so important to teach schoolchildren how to work with questions in elementary school. The most effective are the six types of questions developed by B. Bloom. The authors suggest ways of teaching elementary school students an understanding of the meaning of questions, posing different questions and competent and complete answers to questions. As a model of question types, Bloom’s flower is used. In the submissions you can get acquainted with the ways of assessing students from the second to the fourth grade – how the number of students asking questions changes. As students gradually ask more difficult questions. How these questions are applied in solving problems. This is because the objective of the educational activities of such schools is to prepare young men to enroll in military universities of the country, where a high level of physical fitness is one of the conditions for military training. At the same time, one of the problems that the system of physical training in the school creates, as studies have shown, is the low interest of cadets in sports, which is reflected in the low attendance of extra classes on physical culture. The work is dedicated to the search for organizational forms and means of physical education, methods of their implementation and the definition of place in the educational space of the cadet academy. The article discusses extracurricular forms of physical training in the Orenburg presidential cadet school. The author suggests that cadets are offered the forms and methods of physical training and sports that do not fully meet the age requirements of the cadet. Determining the interest and motivation of the cadets additionally, outside the school to engage in physical culture and sports will allow to organize the work in the system of physical education appropriate for their age and needs, which will contribute to the formation of motivation to sports activities, will increase the mass involved and thus the level of their physical fitness. The research allowed to classify extracurricular forms of physical training. Such forms include: sports events for pupils of the 5–6 classes, sports clubs in division of additional education for cadets of the 5–9 classes, classes of military-applied sports for senior cadets. The introduction of the system of physical education with additional physical training and sporting activities that meet the interests of cadets, helped to increase attendance, to raise the prestige of physical culture and sports, and thus increase the level of physical training of the graduates of the Orenburg presidential cadet school. | 380 | The question of professional tasks of a preschool education teacher is discussed. Pedagogical activity is a process of solving professional tasks of various types. The article describes the psychological task, as one of the types of professional tasks in educational activities. The specificity of the psychological task in a teacher’s practice is its uncertainty. The uncertainty of the task is related to an individual’s perception of a situation, his personal attitude towards that situation, the individual experience of solving such problematic situations and the presence of personal meanings regarding what is happening in the context of the general level of psychological maturity of a person. This implies the variability of solutions. The choice of pedagogical actions is connected to a number of conditions: the perception of the situation, attitude towards the situation, the emotions it causes, the experience of solving problematic situations and the preferred behavioral models and the desired outcome. The article describes the informative characteristics of the three solutions of the psychological problem. The following situation is psychologically competent: a wholesome perception of the situation, the attitude towards the situation as a meaningful one for others (a personally and socially significant situation), feelings are associated with internal experiences shared with feelings of others; decisions are aimed for benefitting all of the participants of the situation, the result is defined as useful and significant for other people, for society, along with their own achievements. The article provides an example of solving a psychological problem by a teacher in the form of a case in accordance with the third option. Appeal to the groups of universal and general professional competencies, indicated in modern FGOS VO, showed that each of the designated competencies contains not only psychological terminology, but also contains ideas of a variable approach towards their development. One of the options for the development of professional competencies, in our opinion, is the use of a task approach that includes a combination of different types of tasks. In the typification of professional tasks noted in the FGOS VO 3 ++, the psychological task is included in broad nominations of such types as accompaniment, cultural and educational, organizational and managerial, methodical. | 382 | The author considers in the article the possibility of forming universal educational actions for children of primary school age in the process of solving design problems in school conditions. The federal state educational standard of primary general education highlights universal learning activities as an important educational outcome. Universal actions can develop in different types of vigorous activity, in particular, in project activities. The author compared the goal, result, content, way of interaction and the role of the teacher in project activities and in solving design problems. It is concluded that the project task is an important component of the project activity, its initial stage. The process of solving design problems in elementary school ensures the gradual mastering by younger schoolchildren of a new type of activity for them – project activities. Primary school students form design skills that are of a universal nature. Project and universal skills have a common content, therefore, when solving project problems, different groups of universal learning actions are formed: communicative, regulatory, and cognitive. Project tasks are implemented with children of primary school age in group collaboration under the guidance of a teacher. The set of tools specially prepared by the teacher are important. These tools allow you to create a game or life problem situation, solving which children apply subject knowledge and universal skills. A similar experience in solving design problems was put into practice in the Rassvet Primary School, Tomsk Region. | 384 | The article analyzes the principle of organizing inclusive education, which is to ensure that the diversity of the needs of students with physical and mental disabilities corresponds to such educational environment. The justification of the principle of the need for special training in the field of special (correctional) pedagogy and psychological readiness is professionally and competently addressed in the problems of children with different educational needs, including those with limited health opportunities. When implementing the ideas of the professional and personal identity of the teacher, the following criteria are presented: in as much as in the phenomenological tradition the personality appears as a unique, existential entity, and identity expresses the self-referentiality of the person in the logic of the integral determination of the individual, the study is presented in the position of the person approach. Based on the analysis of the data of diagnostic studies, it was established that the participants of the project “Above the rainbow” are psychologically not ready for inclusion and need special comprehensive assistance from specialists (psychologist, methodologist). In this regard, they need understanding of themselves in a new role (personal identity), knowledge of the specifics of implementing approaches to individualization of the education of children with special educational needs; organization of psychological support system, joint analysis of professional experience, development of negative emotions, mastering self-identification techniques and their use in new conditions (under conditions of inclusion). Therefore, the task of specialists (methodologists, psychologists) is to help educators understand their hidden beliefs and values, to learn from them whether they are the beliefs and values that they would like to protect. For a program of inclusive education to be sustainable, at a certain point, these beliefs and values should be openly and clearly articulated. But the most important thing that teachers-participants of the project should learn is to work with children with different educational opportunities (capable children, children with HIA, children with disabilities) and take this diversity into account in their pedagogical approach to everyone. | 386 | Currently, the modern teacher is increasingly faced with the need to process a large information amount in classes’ preparation. This is especially true of university teachers who need to convey to students a lot of new information, using modern educational technologies. They consider lesson plans writing as a routine and time consuming activity. We propose to use the “structuring” of the lesson, in the process of which the teacher determines its theme, formulates the goal, objectives, final results and distributes the material into groups in accordance with the new state educational standards. In the future, such an information fragmentation has a positive effect on the students learning. In this article, the problem of structuring a lesson is considered with the interconnected teaching of German as a second foreign language, since the planning of such a lesson is associated with the simultaneous teaching of various aspects of the language. Of the entire spectrum of modern teaching technologies, in the course of teaching a second foreign language, health-saving, gaming, technologies of modular learning, personalityoriented, and others were applied. The practical training structure in the second foreign language has been experimentally tested and confirmed. It is proved that a properly structured, phased study of material leads to its effective learning by students. | 387 | This paper presents theoretical approaches to the design of scientific and methodological support of the process of advanced teacher training in modern conditions of setting educational goals in the form of student’s competency characteristics. The specificity of the modern educational situation has been characterized, manifesting in developing of a new terminological space, a need for pedagogical forecasting of the entire image of a school graduate, the forming of both his vertical processes (among different levels of the educational system), horizontal ones (a territorial level and an interethnic one as well) and inter-subject coordination. It is argued that the new international approach to the educational systems management, corresponding to the specifics of a post-industrial society, is a new challenge for the teacher’s professionalism. The analysis of the regulatory requirements for teacher skills on the basis of the Federal Law «On Education in the Russian Federation», Federal state educational standards of basic general education and the qualification characteristics of a teacher position is given. It is alleged that an important condition for maintaining professionalism is the scientific and methodological support of the process of advanced training. The negative consequences of the lack of such support are being predicted, the problems identified during the course preparation of teachers of Primorsky Krai have been detected. A research problem statement has been determined as a defining approach to the design of the pedagogical conditions for the development of teacher professionalism. It is argued that the problem of the teacher’s readiness to work in circumstances of regulatory certainty of educational goals, expressed in the student’s competence characteristics, is a particular case of contradiction between a normative direction of the activity and individual nature of its implementation. Put in these terms, the problem implies not only updating the content of additional professional programs, but the selection of teaching facilities allowing to develop an individual nature of the activity as well. It has been suggested that information technology is a tool for overcoming this contradiction. | 395 | The assessment of the general competencies formation has a special place in the monitoring of the quality of student’s professional training. This article describes various approaches used in both domestic and foreign literature to define the concept of common competencies. On the basis of their analysis, the authors understand that general competencies are the student’s personal qualities necessary to perform various types of professional activity. The problem of creating an integrated assessment system for general competencies is one of the most difficult problems in theory and practice of education. The purpose of the assessment activity is to determine the degree of compliance of knowledge and skills with those planned for the student. Many researchers think that determining the degree of conformity of knowledge and skills previously planned is the goal of education. The authors propose complementing this goal with the development of students’ self-esteem and their motivation for success. Knowledge, skills, and abilities are transformed into intermediate learning outcomes and become a means of achieving the goal gradually. The authors studied the experience of other researchers assessing general competencies and they concluded that all functional components of competencies are not always taken into account. The motivational, cognitive and activity components of competencies were identified by modern specialists. General competencies are also formulated as the final result of professional education that met federal state educational standards. It is difficult to apply them as specific intermediate results during the course of training. The authors propose a system for assessing general competencies in the course of general education. There is a need to create a specific table of general competencies, where each competence is divided into smaller competences, according to this system. There is also a need to develop a ratio matrix of the academic general education cycle disciplines and formed competences. Teachers determine the means of assessment for each learning outcome. For them, it is necessary to develop a system of rating scales and criteria with assessment indicators. These funds are used with a point-rating system for evaluating students’ activities, the results of which indicate the formation of the activity component of competencies. The authors selected suitable diagnostic tools in the form of psychological tests and questionnaires for assessing the personal qualities of the student, necessary for the formation of a particular general competence. Two complex interdisciplinary tests in mathematics, natural science, and humanities are used to assess the level of formation the cognitive component of competencies. They contain assignments to identify students’ skills, abilities, and ways of activity that ensure the successful development of general competencies. | 400 | The development of musical training system in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), based on national traditions, both theoretically and practically, from its origins to the era of digital technology, is considered. For this purpose, the theoretical notions of musical professional education in China are systematized in correlation with the main historical stages of the country’s development and in the conditions of its reform. It is shown that modern music education in China dates back to the early twentieth century, when other countries had already formed music schools (in the broadest sense of the word); accordingly, the formation of Chinese musicology and music teaching methods initially relied on foreign traditions, including them in the millennial practical experience of mastering the musical art, accumulated by the ancient civilization. Since the adoption of the Western system of music education, many music courses and teaching methods have remained unchanged for many years. Modern music education places greater demands on the education of the teacher of higher education, the structure of knowledge, cultural development and quality of teaching, including mastery of digital technologies. At present, the level of training of Chinese music teachers is uneven, and it takes a large number of dedicated, hard-working, high-level music teachers to fill the gaps in Chinese music education that are holding back the development of Chinese music.
